A Change:

I have seriously neglected posting journal updates for quite some time now and I feel a little badly about it.  Perhaps this stems from a combination of my new job and the fact that I have, after two years of living in China, thoroughly"settled-in".  I simply do not have the same level of desire and time I used to have to regularly post updates.  I am still thrilled to be here, still feel it was the best life decision I have ever made for myself, and I still face the challenges, difficulties and frustrations that make each day a real experience.  Because of this, I would like to continue to share some of these experiences and observations, but I think a change in format may be required to better accommodate my current lifestyle.  From this point forward I will be posting selected snapshots and short takes on a variety of different things, and the rambling narratives will be a thing of the past.  Perhaps a welcome change to some in the audience!!

My work with Follett continues to go very well and I welcome the different kind of business it has introduced in my life.  I have had the opportunity to learn a whole new line of work, maintain my connection with Follett corporation, and as a small perk, do a little business-related traveling.  For example, a recent trip to Thailand for a business conference.  (Thailand pictures available **HERE**)  I am a pretty lucky guy because of this.

Oh, just a quick note about McDonalds.  I wanted to take some pictures of the menu displays in the restaurant, but the restaurant manager came down hard on me and told me I couldn't do it.  Unfortunately, the camera I use is not a little pocket-sized one and I couldn't secretively snap off any pics.  I will try to get something posted in the future to show how confusing their menus are.
